Modern Cloth Nappies: easy and so rewarding

To be honest I had never really considered using anything else but disposable nappies until I was pregnant and learnt there were other alternatives than just the old folded terry towels my mum used to use. The Modern Cloth Nappy doesn't need safety pins, doesn't have leaking problems, doesn't require origami skills and aren't absolutely huge! They are shaped like a disposable nappy, have elastic for the legs and waist, have water proof covers, and come in so many beautiful de

Everyday underwear that look AND feel amazing. They exist!

We all have some super sexy underwear, really skimpy, lacey, embellished, etc. While they are an important part of your underwear collection, these are not what you are wearing day in and day out. Most of us are guilty for having some daggy, unflattering underwear that we keep because they are so comfortable. But wearing underwear that you know looks good is empowering, even if no one sees them, you know they are there. So when we are talking about your everyday underwear, we

Wovii towels - An active person's best friend

Ok, so we are going to talk practical towels! If you have ever found yourself getting frustrated with the towels you are taking out and about not drying in time, hate that they take up your entire bag, or loath having to do numerous loads of towel washes a week, then this post is for you! I originally got contacted by Wovii to do some photography for them. After I had done the shots, I had a whole bunch of these towels so I started to swap them out with the other towels I was

Making my wedding dress with my mum

My mum left school at 16 to become a seamstress, she worked for leading designers in Australia and made wedding dresses for a number of years. When she became a mother of 4 she stopped working fulltime but it didn’t stop it being a big part of her life, with a semi industrial machine at home she made the school uniforms for all the girls in my primary school! She also inherited the job of fixing, hemming up and creating clothes for all of us kids. She made every dress up cost

From coffee to crop top: RumiX making yoga clothes from unlikely waste

@rumixfeelgood does it again. First it was fabric made from plastic bottles, now they have designed a new range where the fabric is made from coffee ground. On top of this, the production of turning this coffee into yarn uses less energy and resources than turning traditional cotton into yarn. I am sure you have not thought about coffee waste before, however considering how much coffee is consumed, can you start to think about how much coffee is going into landfills around th

H&M are showing us that recycling clothes is possible and easy!

Think about all the clothes that enter and leave your wardrobe year after year, the new favorites added and the old 'has beens' removed. Firstly, how much clothes would there be if you made a pile of all the clothes that have entered and left your wardrobe over the years? Would it be overwhelmingly big? I know mine would be!! Now after your clothes leave your wardrobe, have you considered what life they have? Maybe the ones in good condition you donated, from there maybe they

The perfect day bag for urban globe trotting

So you are exploring a new city far from home, you have your big roller bag in your hotel and your about to venture out for the day. What bag do you take? Do you take your usual sized day handbag that you use at home, do you take a smaller version of your shoulder bag, do you take a backpack, or something else? After countless trips and days on end exploring cities and suburbs around the world on foot I have tried and tested the best bag to take you around any urban environme

Review: Aesop skin care range for combination skin

This was an unpaid, ungifted review. All products were purchased full price and reviewed based solely off my experience. I imagine like many of you, I have tried so many different types of skin care products, everyday supermarket products, to mid range, to exclusive beautician only ranges. Some I used for a while but none of them have really stuck with me as a great range. If you naturally have great skin it's easy to find a good product that works well for you. But not ev

My top 3 pants specifically for yoga

When it comes to activewear there are a lot of great brands out there, however when it comes to yoga the requirements are a little different. A yoga pant should be smooth all over, no zippers or bumps to get in the way. The compression should be light to allow for lots of free movement and little pressure on your legs. The rise should be mid to high waist to keep everything in and fuss free, no middle seem through the crutch (to avoid camel toe!) and of course not see through

Lululemon: The reigning king of quality

6 years ago I started going to a weekly yoga class at my gym, this is where I first started to notice Lululemon pants. I previously knew of the brand and stores but never really understood the need to buy premium gym clothes. It definitely seems a life time ago but back then everyone at the gym just wore old tee shirts and basic leggings. You would see the odd Nike item but mainly people just wore clothes they didn't mind would get sweaty and gross! It was not common to wear

VS Sport: The best all-rounder sports bra

I have many different sports bras all for different types of workouts and a lot of them are quite good, but ranking highest across all areas are my all-time favourite sports bras from Victoria Secret Sport. Here is the low down of how well they rank across all the areas I look for in a sports bra. Fit Sizing options are the same as bras, so you can get any cup size with any width, which is pretty unheard of with most other sports bras. No more ill-fitting sports bra pro

From Hand to Heart: Mimco’s collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative

While I was meant to be Christmas shopping in December I came across this Mimco tote, I thought it was really cute and different. It wasn’t until I looked at the back of it that I learnt about it’s beautiful creation and knew I wanted to support it. Mimco have partnered up with the Ethical Fashion Initiative to make a beautiful African inspired collection. The Ethical Fashion Initiative is a part of the United Nations International Trade Centre where their aim is to connect a

Supporting Ethical Fashion Just Got Easy

This is my super soft beautiful Country Road Merino wool jumper. When I purchased it I was buying it because it was quality fine knit Merino wool and a design a liked. Did I consider if the brand I was purchasing it from ensured that they were using suppliers that protect the sheep's welfare? That they were not using farmers that practiced mulesing the sheep? No I didn't. I should have, but how could I find this all out? Thanks to a new app, all of this info is now at our fin
